Why everyone needs a card stash at home

Third drawer of the desk in the corner of the living room. I can still picture the drawer full of cards that my Mum kept at home when I was a kid. It was stuffed so full that it regularly got jammed when trying to open it. Inside a glorious selection of birthday, Christmas, new baby, sympathy and every other occasion you could think of. Whenever I needed a card for the friend's birthday that I only remembered last minute I could dive in, have a good rummage around and find the perfect one to get into the postbox ASAP.
